President Muhammadu Buhari

Alhaji Mohammed represented the president
at the official launch of a book titled:’ ‘Who
will love my country: Ideas of building the
Nigeria of our dreams” written by Deputy
Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu
at the International Conference Centre,
Abuja yesterday, April 27.

The president said: ”Our 2016 budget is
designed precisely to bring millions of our
people out of poverty, enhance the living
conditions of the citizens and bring smiles to
their faces.

”Our 500 billion naira social intervention social
intervention fund which is unprecedented will
among others, create jobs, for 500,000
unemployed graduates, 370,000 unemployed
non-graduates, provides loans for one million
Nigerians, including market men and women
as well as artisans to start up small
businesses.

”It will feed 4.5 million school children, ensure
cash transfers, to the most vulnerable citizens,
and provides scholarship and bursary to
students studying science, technology,
engineering and mathematics.”

President Buhari praised Senator
Ekweremadu for taking time out of his busy
schedule to write the book which he said
will contribute to the knowledge body of the
nation.

”The author demonstrated in the book that
Nigerians can only build a Nigeria of their
dreams if they make bold efforts to love her
above their individual and narrow interests.

”Let me say here that there is no controverting
the critical issues raised by the author, and
that indeed for this government, these words
amount to preaching to the converted,” the
president noted.

Meanwhile, Senate president, Bukola Saraki
has announced that all the grey areas in the
2016 budget have been finally resolved.
