FREE EDUCATION CLOCKS 7 IN IMO STATE:  A reply to Obinna Egu.

My attention was drawn by a brother Godswill to a publication made by Obinna Egu a lawmaker turned media aid with the above caption.

Firstly, Let me congratulate Obinna on his resent self acclaimed appointment as a media aid to a governor whose excesses we sent him to check and counterbalance.

Obinna Egu who has never deemed it necessary to address his constituency here has  woken only to start singing praises and hallelujah to Okorocha. How low can A legislator go? This has justified and help to answer many questions I raised in my previous posts on whose interest Obinna is serving in Imo State Houseof Assembly. Even when the bar is very low Obinna must find a way to lower it.

Now it's visible to the blind and abundantly audible to the deaf that Obinna Egu is representing the interest of Rochas and not that of Ndi NgorOkpala that elected him.

I am not against his newly found media job but I would advice and strongly too that Obinna Egu pens his resignation just like Jacob Zuma and tender an appology to the good people of Ngor Okpala before proceeding with his media aid job.

Secondly and more importantly too I would want to set the records straight by telling the latest media aid that Okorocha is not up to 7years in office and hence his free education program if ANY could not have clocked 7. It was therefore shocking to many of us to hear from Obinna Egu that Governor Okorocha's free education has clocked 7. It's either Obinna is saying Ohakim handed the free education program to Rochas or he has once again lied to us in an attempt to deceive the unsuspecting and innocent readers.

Thirdly and a corollary of the above. I want my representative who has turn himself to a media aid to tell us how free education is in Imo State as he had claimed.

How free is education in Imo and his own children and wards and nieces and nephews and cosins and that of Rochas and all his colleagues and other aids of Okorocha do not school in any of the government owned schools? they would rather spend millions of public fund to put their wards in private schools or other government schools in other states.

This single act is nothing but a vote of no confidence on the Okorocha’s free education policy? If the free education in IMSU and other state owned institutions of learning was superb how come their children don’t school there? Why do the government appointees prefer to send their children to private schools or public schools owned by other state governments where they pay huge sums of money? It boils down to the point that the Okorocha’s free education policy is a sham, a facade, a poison prescribed only for the poor.

The Okorocha's administration thus has widened the gap between the haves and the have nots, the poor and the rich. Same Governor Okorocha who rode on the back of the poor to become Governor in 2011. When He went from market to market  and spoke to them. He hugged them, bought akara from roadside and ate. He bought roasted corn by the roadside and ate. He rode on keke. He drove himself in his car and beamed with smile as he shook hands with all and sundry. He associated himself with the poor and they accepted him like one of them. He called them ” my people, my people” and they answered “our Governor, our Governor”. But many years after it has become clear to the poor that their judgment of Okorocha in 2011 was wrong, that they made a colossal mistake.

How free is free education when the state government through the SGI Eche George has claimed the programme has cost Imo 40BN which money must come from our collective purses  directly or indirectly.

How free is education in Imo when our Brothers pay N75,0000 for acceptance fees.

While we await Obinna Egu's resignation and appologies which arrogance will withhold it is imperative we know that a lawmaker should not be a puppet, a lawmaker should not be a stooge, a lawmaker should not be a ready too against the people he represents, a lawmaker should not be Obinna Egu.
